Live Earth, a worldwide day of concerts aimed at bringing attention to global warming, is losing what little momentum it has. According to Rolling Stone, the Istanbul show was recently cancelled due to low support. And apparently the show in Rio is set to be cancelled unless a recent ruling is overturned.
The event, set to occur on all seven continents, was announced months ago in partnership with Al Gore. Over one hundred artists, including Linkin Park, Taking Back Sunday and The Police, are set to perform for the charity event in places like Tokyo, New York, and Sydney.
The concerts will also be broadcast on NBC (and affiliates), Sundance, XM, Sirius and other services.
