Update: Facebook+iTunes Rock List #2

This week’s been a little busy; combine that with my inherent laziness and you have one late update on Facebook+iTunes’ latest playlist!

Here are my favorite tracks from the list. There aren’t that many good or unique songs here, but I managed to find a few good ones.

  1. Paper Thin Hymn
    Anberlin
A calm verse alternates with a hardcore chorus that reminds me a bit of Sum-41. It’s not exactly what you’d call a happy song, but it’ll definitely wake you up.
  2. Radio
    Crashbox
I really like the unique, almost tribal-sounding drums in this song’s opening verse. The chorus rhythm reminds me of “Hit Me With Your Best Shot.” It’s pretty traditional rock, but it’s a lot better than a lot of what’s on this list.
  3. Wolves
    Josh Ritter
The slowest and folkiest of all of these songs, Wolves has a great classic rock feel brought mixed with a bit of country with its galloping drum beats.
  4. Writing On The Walls
    Underoath
Hardcore alert! This song has a lot of screaming (per the band’s style). If you’re looking for a dark but energetic song that is screaming (ha) with emotion, check this track. Definitely my favorite of the entire list

That’s it? Only four songs? Yep. If I remember correctly, the first rock list wasn’t much better than this one. Don’t get me wrong, these four songs are good. It’s just a little sad to see a lack of variety and inspiration in the songs of this list.

  2. Hey, I agree with your choices! The crash box song is def the best; Underoath is close second.
